SUBANG - As Muslims contemplate each long day’s fast, and reflect on the spiritual nourishment the month of Ramadan brings them, thoughts will invariably turn to another type of sustenance.

In a city that prides itself on its food above all else, Subang Jaya perks up once the sun sets and family and friends come together for a grand Iftar.  Complementing this spirit of togetherness should be a meal that completes this picture. This is exactly what Dorsett Grand Subang provides at this year's Ramadan offering.

Themed “Semarak Iftar”, the Lower Ground level of the five-star hotel features a memorable Iftar offerings complete with lavish sumptuous spread at the all-day dining restaurant, Terazza Brasserie.

Boasting over 90 dishes made in-house on rotational basis this Ramadan season, Terazza Brasserie is made to resemble stalls like a Ramadan bazaar, showcasing classic and local favourite dishes celebrating Visit Malaysia 2020 (VM2020) national campaign.

Semarak Iftar is available daily from 24 April until 23 May 2020 from 7.00pm to 10.30pm, priced at RM138 nett (Adult) and RM89 nett (Child 6-12 y.o and Senior Citizen 60 y.o and above).

As one walks into the restaurant, opening the curtain to the Iftar indulgence would be the wide variety of appetisers with the likes of traditional local salad or Kerabu, an assortment of Sambal and local deep-fried crackers with the likes of Keropok Sotong, Keropok Ikan, Keropok Sayur, Emping Malinja and Papadom.

The hot and cold salad bar provides a selection of fresh salads along with accompaniments of Italian dressing, French dressing, Thousand Island dressing and vinaigrette. For those wanting to start Iftar on a bowl of soup, Terazza Brasserie provides Malay-style Mushroom Chicken Soup, Cumin infused Watercress Cream Soup, Sup Tulang Kambing Berempah, Sup Pindang Ikan Merah, Chicken Yoke Chuk Soup, Chi Kut Teh Chicken Herbal Soup, Sup Singgang Ikan and Chicken Tom Yam Soup.

Around the restaurant – inside or outside, you can find a team of culinary enthusiasts will man a selection of live stations where you can get and replenish your fill, and sample dishes all you can – from Sup Gear Box and Sup Campur Utara stall, to the popular Roti Canai, Roti Telur, Chicken Murtabak and Roti John stall.

Your Iftar will not be complete without feasting your eyes and appetite on the Roasted Baby Lamb with Mandy Arabic Rice and the traditional Bubur Lambuk. Adding more to that street festival feel, look out for the BBQ smoke coming out from the live Satay pits to find your favourite childhood Satay BBQ sticks prepared right in front of you ready to savour with popular condiments like Nasi Impit, cucumber, onions and spicy peanut sauce.

This fantastic line-up of live stalls will also serve local noodle favourites with the likes of Laksa Sarawak, Penang Prawn Noodle Soup, Laksa Johor, Laksa Kedah, Kelantanese Laksam and Mee Soto Jawa along with another local favourite – Nasi Kukus, which is served with a side of Ayam Goreng Berempah, Pajeri Nenas or Pajeri Terung, Hati Ayam Goreng Sambal and other condiments.

Other main dishes to look out for include Nasi Tomato, Daging Rendang Tok, Gulai Kawah Kambing, Stir-fried Chicken with Dried Chilli Cashew Nut, Udang Masak Cili Api, Stir-fired Kai Lan with Ikan Masin, Nasi Briyani Gam Sayur, Sambal Udang, Wok-fried Fresh Prawn Kong Poh, Kari Ikan Tenggiri, Kambing Kuzi, Braised Beef Ribeye with Mild Pepper Sauce and many more.

Should one have room for desserts, a selection of cakes, cookies, and assorted Malay kuih such as Onde-Onde, Badak Berendam, Tapai Pulut dan Ubi, Pulut Panggang will make for a sweet Iftar ending. Alternatively, have a bowl of refreshing Pulut Hitam Porridge, Cendol or Ais Kacang and even various assortment of ice-cream flavours. A variety of toppings and sauces are available, so just lather on whichever strikes your fancy.

Early Bird discount is available from 1 March until 22 April 2020 priced at RM98 nett. Advance booking is a must before dining.

A special Sahur buffet in the morning is also available at Terazza Brasserie priced at RM78 nett per person from 4.30am to 5.30am. Staying at the hotel? In-Room Sahur promotion is also available from 4.30am to 5.30am priced at RM78 nett per order with latest order to be taken at 3am.

Crave for something more oriental? Head over to The Emperor for a majestic Chinese-style Iftar from 6.00pm to 10.00pm. Available from 24 April until 24 May 2020, choose from two specialty Iftar Set Menu prepared by award-winning Executive Chef Bryan Teh. For the 8-course Iftar Set Menu is priced at RM588 nett per table of six persons and for the 9-course Iftar Set Menu is priced at RM 988 nett per table of ten persons.

Experience specialty delights with the likes of Chef Bryan’s special concocted Sichuan Style Deep-Fried Crispy Chicken With Dry Chilli and Herbs, Wok-Fried Assorted Vegetable with Spicy Sauce in Claypot, Fried Fragrant Rice with Diced Chicken and Ordinary Extra Sauce and many more.

In conjunction with Ramadan celebration as well from 1 March until 30 May, Executive Chef Bryan has put together 3 different Mix ‘N’ Match Set promotion menus to cater to different budget served with a complimentary Soup of the Day and Dessert.

The 4-course menu is priced at RM298 nett per table of 4 persons with a mix and match of one meat dish, one seafood dish, one seafood or egg dish and one seasoned vegetable dish. The 6-course menu is priced at RM498 nett per table of 6 persons include a mix and match of one meat dish, one seafood dish, two poultry dish, one bean curd and egg dish and one seasoned vegetable dish. And the 8-course menu which priced at RM698 nett per table of 8 persons include a mix and match of two meat dish, two seafood dish, two poultry dish, one bean curd and egg dish and one seasoned vegetable dish.
