Located with Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle is Dorsett Kuala Lumpur not only represents Dorsett Hospitality International’s very 1st hotel in Malaysia but also within the group. The midscale hotel opened in April 1998 with 322 guestrooms including 27 suites, four multi-functional space, a gymnasium, Checkers Cafe – an all-day dining facility and Windows Lounge.

In line with the group’s business strategy and in meeting the needs of today’s

savvy travellers, Dorsett Kuala Lumpur embarked upon a total renovation programme in June 2014 and completed the exercise in 2017 at an investment cost of close to RM40 million. Stylish chic with a refreshed look and feel, the guestrooms and suites are designed with the comfort of the travellers in mind. Fully functional and spacious complete with all the daily necessities including WiFi access for seamless connectivity, choice of pillow for a well-deserved night’s rest; the rooms were upgraded at a cost of close to RM100k per key.

The hotel’s all-day dining facility, Checkers Cafe was given a total makeover and emerged with an understated sense of elegance; and fittings and fixtures in tones of matted gold and refreshing green. The dining space is more expansive, airy and with daylight filtering through from all corners. The buffet counters feature live cooking stations as well as top-notch marble top buffet counters with bespoke lightings to enhance the overall food ambience.

The Windows Lounge located at the Hotel’s Lobby was given a rich yet contemporary look and feel complete with an open bar, enabling hours of interaction between the hotel’s mixologists and guests. Decked in tones of deep blue carpeting complemented with bespoke furniture in hues of gold, Windows Lounge offers patrons glimpses of the bustling life of the streets beyond through its full height windows. Checkers Cafe and Windows Lounge’s refreshed look comes with a price tag of RM4 million.

Besides the guestrooms and suites; the four multi-functional space also underwent a comprehensive, multi-million dollar meeting space transformation to match the exceptional service provided by the hotel’s associates and the expectations of our guests. With seating capacity ranging from 200 persons (theatre-style) to 150 persons (table set-up), the function spaces are suitable for seminars, trainings, town halls, corporate functions to social events and small-to medium wedding receptions including ROM ceremonies.
