Dorsett Kuala Lumpur’s Deepavali CSR 2019 at Pusat Jagaan Siddarthan
Corporate Social Responsibility is a constituent of Dorsett’s operating philosophy. Dorsett Kuala Lumpur’s associates along with Adele Ang, General Manager of the hotel gathered at the Siddarthan Care Centre, a disable and orphanage home on 22nd October 2019 with the children and caretakers as a pre-celebration prior to Deepavali, also known as Diwali internationally for the Hindu’s festival of lights.
This year, the team of Dorsett Kuala Lumpur took fund collections from the hotel’s daily “Popcare Hour” and contributed a RM1,000 worth of dryer machine to the orphanage which was the most needed item for the children and caretakers. The hotel serves popcorn daily from 6pm – 7pm at the lobby, along with a donation box as a charitable initiative for guests and associates to contribute as they like while savouring popcorns freshly made from a popcorn machine. The hotel’s associates also distributed 20 canisters of the hotel’s signature gluten free Chocolate Chip cookies and served some freshly baked pastries from the culinary team. Apart from that, children below 10 years old were given the Dorsett drawstring bag packs each with Dorsett Teddy in them.
Mr. S.K. Manimaran, the founder and President of the orphanage home on behalf of the children and caretakers was very grateful to receive the dryer machine presented by Adele Ang, General Manager of Dorsett Kuala Lumpur and thanked the team of Dorsett Kuala Lumpur for all the goodies, treats and the lovely Deepavali card. The children had a good time enjoying the tea time snacks and an engaging session with the hotel’s associates.
