Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR is a constituent of Dorsett’s operating philosophy. The management team of Dorsett Grand Subang has undertaken the task of cultivating the value of filial piety among their associates and sent their warmth vibrant loves and sumptuous food to one such group of senior citizens at Pusat Jagaan Dan Rawatan Orang Tua Al-Ikhlas, Puchong.
In the 3 hours visits, associates accomplished their CSR objective and mission of brightening up the lives and home of the senior citizens. The mission kicked off with the team cleaning the home’s surroundings followed by a grooming and cleaning sessions for every resident as well as food preparation for lunch.
"We are happy to bring cheer and to shower our vibrant loves to the residents. This CSR event is parallel to our group’s mission of giving back to the community we operate in. We believed the more we are involved and serve the community, the happier we are as a whole, as a company or even as an individual" said Christina Toh, Area General Manager - Malaysia.
Dorsett Grand Subang associates witnessed 38 wonderful smiles from all residents at Pusat Jagaan Dan Rawatan Orang Tua Al-Ikhlas, especially during lunch and the mingling sessions.
Pusat Jagaan Dan Rawatan Orang Tua Al-Ikhlas houses old folks aged 60 years and above that are destitute, ill and bedridden with no family members. The home was established in 1999 by one concerned matron of Hospital Serdang, Puan Muji Sulaiman when she witnessed some of her senior patients are not taken home by their next of kin from the hospital.
“This CSR event brings significant changes to the residents. Visits from people who care will help to cheer them up and prove that the society still cares and love them,” added Ms Toh.
