(Hong Kong, May 16, 2017) When the Dorsett Wanchai, Hong Kong is only a 10-min drive away from Hong Kong Stadium, the hotel can also share the thrill and action of the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens! In order to be part in this exciting event and deliver a fun staying experience, Dorsett Wanchai hosted a “Rugby7 Best Dressed Contest” from April 7-9, 2017 which guests who dressed up for Rugby 7s could win a prize.

The Hong Kong Sevens is one of the most popular annual sporting events in Asia where the world’s greatest rugby players and thousands of fans from around the globe gather in one magnificent stadium. Since the Dorsett is all about fun and laughter, every year the Dorsett Wanchai holds a “Rugby 7s Best Dressed Contest” for guests to dress up as wild as they can. Guests with the best costumes will win prizes including a free night’s stay during next year’s Rugby 7s.

“This is the second year we hosted the “Rugby 7s Best Dressed Contest” and it was a blast. We have seen more hotel guests take part in this year’s contest and a lot of creativity went into the outfits. There were Snow White and the seven dwarfs, a rock band, dry beer, and security guards. The winners were Mr. and Ms. Campbell who dressed up as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. They won a free night’s stay at the Dorsett Wanchai while the other participants were also given a free room upgrade when they return during next year’s Rugby 7s,” said Ms Anita Chan, General Manager of the Dorsett Wanchai, Hong Kong.

“This is one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had and we want to thank the Dorsett Wanchai so much for granting us a free night stay! I was surprised as I never expected something like this, so it’s grateful to see how the hotel went extra to exceed guests’ expectations. Because of this, we will definitely come back again during next year’s rugby!” said Mr. Campbell.

At the end of the day, Dorsett Wanchai made sure everyone received something after the event and all the guests had a great time. While the contest was about Rugby 7s, it was also initiative to let guests experience what it is like staying in the Dorsett: To experience “beyond thoughtful services” and be part of the fun Dorsett f spirit! Last but not least, we thank all the participants this year for doing such a good job!
