MAGICAL CHRISTMAS FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN FROM DORSETT HARTAMAS KUALA LUMPUR

KUALA LUMPUR – As an organization that cares for the public, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an integral constituent of Dorsett’s operating philosophy. Having only soft opened on 8th August 2018, Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur has actively lived up to its commitment in giving back to the local community by organising and initiating various CSR activities.

In conjunction with the festive season, 15 associates from Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur recently organised a Christmas party for 25 underprivileged children at Lighthouse Children Welfare Home in Bangsar. Besides spreading glad tidings and goodwill of the season, the team ensured that the children had a fun-filled and memorable afternoon with the many organised activities from festive games to decorating the Christmas tree, merry feasting and of course, the highlight of the day; Santa’s appearance.

The delightful day ended with Peggy Tan, General Manager of Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur handing over the donation, daily sundries and other basic necessities required by the Home and the children.

Prior to the visit, Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur had invited the children to perform Christmas carols at the Hotel’s recent Christmas Tree Lighting Up ceremony; one of the many activities organised by the Hotel for the local community.

“This event emphasised values such as loving, giving and sharing and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Christmas and spread the festive cheer than with the underprivileged children. We believe with Dorsett’s philosophy and the Group’s global brand marketing initiatives with Dorsett Cares being one of the 10 that will be rolled out within the next 18 months, our people will be further inspired and motivated to grow with us and at the same time be able to play a crucial role in cultivating a caring society,” said Peggy Tan.

With the onset of a new year just round the corner, Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur will be embarking on a yearlong CSR campaign by partnering with Food Aid Foundation, a non-profit governmental organisation (NGO) that is a ‘Food Bank’ where

corporates and individuals can donate their unused or unwanted foods which will then be collected and distributed to charitable/welfare homes, volunteer welfare organisation, refugees community, poor families, destitute and soup kitchen. Stay tuned for more details!
