Aged-Old Traditions and Contemporary Creations at The Emperor

SUBANG, 2nd January - Whether celebrating with family and friends, or showing appreciation to staff and business associates, usher in the Year of the Rat with a fraiche palate as Dorsett Grand Subang serves up a feast fit for an emperor at its celebrated Chinese restaurant.

Home to resplendent Muslim-friendly Chinese restaurant, The Emperor will be serving up an exquisite feast of Chinese New Year festive menus crafted exclusively by award-winning Executive Chinese Chef Bryan Teh, with his own blend of aged-old dishes and contemporary creations.

Yee Sang with Salmon Fish and Young Mango Salad

Start with a Toss of Prosperity, a refreshing yee sang selections at hand with a choice of traditional yee sang sauce or go for a bit of an adventure with Japanese Wasabi yee sang sauce. Making its debut as well is the irresistible serving of The Emperor's own, Japanese style Prosperity Yee Sang with Crispy Fish Skin and Salmon Fish (RM98.00++ per half portion). Also available are Jellyfish and Fresh Fruits Prosperity Yee Sang (RM68.00++ per half portion); Salmon Fish and Korean Pear Prosperity Yee Sang (RM68.00++ per half portion); Baby Abalone and Korean Pear Prosperity Yee Sang (RM138.00++ per half portion); and Soft-Shell Crab and Korean Pear Prosperity Yee Sang (RM88.00++ per half portion).

Chinese New Year is also a time for family togetherness and radiates the beliefs of ‘Family that eats together, Stays together’.  Thus, a reunion dinner should not just be good, it has to be great and with this, Executive Chinese Chef Bryan has put together 3 different set menus to cater to different budgets.  The 8-course Prosperity Menu is priced at RM1188 nett per table of ten persons, the 9-course Wealthy Set Menu is at RM1388 nett per table of ten persons and the Happiness Set Menu is priced at RM1688 nett per table of ten persons.

And for those with a sweet tooth, be sure to dig in our dessert highlight; Deep-Fried "Nian Gao" with Sweet Potato and Yam. New Year Cake or "Nian Gao" is a must eat traditional dessert during Chinese New Year. The dish dish symbolises ‘both career and business growth’.

Not forgetting as well is The Emperor's Chinese New Year Special which offers tantalizing ala-carte dishes. Highlights include Braised Dried Assorted Seafood and Sea Moss Served in Claypot (RM188++ per dish); Wok-fried River Prawns with Superior Soya Sauce (RM48.00++ per each prawn); Stir-Fried Fresh Scallop with Assorted Vegetable and Macadamia Nuts (RM98.00++ per dish) ; Stewed Dried Oyster with Black Mushroom, Black Moss and Stuffed Bean Curd (RM68.00++ per dish); Oil Poached Mandarin Fish with Superior Soya Sauce (RM230.00++ per kg); and Roasted Crispy Duck Stuffed with Glutinous Rice (RM188.00++ per dish).

Chinese New Year Special promotion is available for lunch (12 pm - 2.30 pm) and dinner (6 pm - 10 pm). Both Chinese New Year Special and Toss of Prosperity promotions are available throughout 15 December 2019 to 8 February 2020.

For some snacking actions among family and friends, indulge in The Emperor's Lunar New Year Dim Sum Lunch.  Highlights include Deep-fried Crispy New Year Cake with Sweet Potato and Yam (RM8.00 nett per dish); Steamed Yam Cake (RM13.00 nett per dish); Steamed Bean Curd Roll with Fish Paste (RM16.00 nett per dish); Steamed Sea Moss “Siew Mai"(RM18.00 nett per dish); Steamed Stuffed Green Mussel with Oriental Butter Sauce (RM18.00 nett per dish); Pan-fried Chives with Prawn (RM18.00 nett per dish); Steamed Fish Maw Stuffed with Asparagus and Oyster Sauce (RM28.00 nett per dish); Deep-fried Scallop Yam Dumpling (RM28.00 nett per dish); and Steamed Baby Abalone (RM38.00 nett per dish).

Executive Chinese Chef Bryan Teh

Taking the helm in the kitchen together with a fantastic culinary brigade at The Emperor Chinese Restaurant is none other than award-winning Executive Chinese Chef Bryan Teh.  His most recent acclaimed accomplishments include a Gold Medal from the Shanghai International Top Chefs Invitation competition; Gold with Distinction Medal from the 2019 Malaysia World Elite Chefs Championship for Individual Hot Dish; Gold Medal from the 2019 Asian Culinary Exchange competition in Japan and a Silver Medal from the 2019 World Master Chefs competition for Cantonese Cuisine held in Macau.
