Dorsett Grand Subang Champions Sustainability and Community Empowerment Through Upcycled Creations

In line with Dorsett Hospitality International’s ongoing sustainability commitment, Dorsett Grand Subang has partnered with Persatuan Seni Jahitan Kreatif Malaysia (PSJKM) to transform the hotel’s retired materials into meaningful, upcycled gifts for corporate clients.

Through this initiative, Dorsett Grand Subang breathes new life into retired hotel materials such as in-room compendium covers. Approximately 88 kilograms of fabric have been diverted from landfills, resulting in the creation of over 1,000 functional items crafted from these upcycled materials. The fabrics are repurposed by the skilled artisans of PSJKM into thoughtfully designed, eco-friendly products such as the Nasi Lemak Bag and Cable Bag Organiser, which also doubles as a pencil case.

The festive season of 2023/2024 saw Dorsett Grand Subang's Greener Me Tree Charity Project contribute RM10,000 to SJ Beacon, the Subang Jaya Community Ambulance. This donation highlights the hotel ongoing commitment to fostering public safety and community welfare.

Befrienders is a non-profit organisation that provides a 24-hour confidential helpline for those in emotional distress. Their volunteers go the extra mile — offering a listening ear, compassion, and hope to those who need it most, any time of the day, completely free of charge.
