Joy in the City: Dorsett Kuala Lumpur's annual tree lighting ceremony

This special home is dedicated to providing essential care, education, and early childhood development to some of Malaysia’s most vulnerable children. They support children from various age groups and ethnic backgrounds, ensuring they receive the guidance and opportunities needed for a brighter future.

All 15 children, accompanied by founders Mr. and Mrs. Stevens, were invited to share their talent with hotel guests and associates. Known for their beautiful carolling performances, the children, aged 11 to 19, filled the lobby with festive cheer. Accompanied by Dorsett Kuala Lumpur’s very own Santarinas, they delivered a heartwarming performance that set the tone for a magical evening.

Following the performance, the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree was led by the hotel’s General Manager, Peggy, and Hotel Manager, David, marking the official start of the holiday season. Immediately after, a cheque of RM2,000 was presented to Lighthouse Children Welfare Home in recognition of their dedication to supporting children in need. As part of Dorsett Kuala Lumpur’s ongoing CSR efforts, the home was selected as the beneficiary of this year’s PopCare initiative, a fundraising program under the #DorsettCares movement. Through this initiative, hotel guests contribute throughout the year in exchange for fresh popcorn, with all proceeds directed toward supporting a chosen home.
