Art, much like travel, has the power to bring people together.

Throughout the pandemic art and creativity has still been flourishing. It has spread hope and made us more resilient. Artists have donated their talents to show their support and love for those on the frontline and neighbours in lockdown have sang to each other from their balconies and rooftops. 

From our hotel in Dorsett Wuhan to our home of Hong Kong, Dorsett Hospitality International has looked over half a million quarantine guests globally, 12,000 medical frontliners in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the United Kingdom, refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine as well as victims of domestic abuse in partnership with Harmony House. It has been equal parts challenging and rewarding and we feel very humbled to have the honour to help our guests travel and get home as safely and as comfortable as possible! 

Art has been used in creative ways to connect us and remind us all that we’re in this together. This is what inspired Dorsett Hospitality International, in partnership with The Collective, to create this AR performance art, choreographed by Yuh Egami (with kind permission from the Hong Kong Ballet) and performed by Jennie Chou and Lee Kok Liang from the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, in celebration of all of us coming out on the other side and the world opening up again! Let the performance begin!

About The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (www.hkapa.edu) 
The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), established by The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Ordinance in 1984, is a leading tertiary institution in the performing arts in Asia. It provides professional undergraduate education and practice-based postgraduate studies. The study encompasses Chinese Opera, Dance, Drama, Film and Television, Music, and Theatre and Entertainment Arts. Its educational philosophy reflects the cultural diversity of Hong Kong with emphasis on Chinese and Western traditions, and interdisciplinary learning.  Since 2008, the Academy has attained the Programme Area Accreditation (PAA) status awarded by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) to self-monitor and accredit its own Undergraduate and Post-secondary programmes in the five programme areas of Dance, Drama, Film and Television, Music, and Theatre and Entertainment Arts. Since 2016, the PAA status has been extended to cover Master’s Degree programmes and below. The programmes operated by the School of Chinese Opera are accredited by HKCAAVQ for recognition under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework.  Besides the main campus in Wanchai, Béthanie, the site of the Academy’s Landmark Heritage Campus in Pokfulam, has housed training facilities for the School of Film and Television since 2006.  In the QS World University Rankings announced in 2022, the Academy is ranked 1^st in Asia and 10^th in the world in the Performing Arts category.
