Ngong Ping 360 is a scenic cable car service connecting Tung Chung on Lantau Island with the Ngong Ping Plateau, home to the Tian Tan Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. The cable car journey spans approximately 5.7 kilometres and takes around 25 minutes each way. Standard and Crystal Cabin (glass-bottomed floor) options are available. 

Ngong Ping 360's cable car terminal in Tung Chung is approximately 35 kilometres from Dorsett Kai Tak. By MTR using the hotel's complimentary shuttle to Kai Tak Station and transferring at Nam Cheong to the Tung Chung Station, the total journey takes around 60 minutes. By taxi, the journey takes approximately 35–45 minutes. 

Autumn (October to November) offers the clearest skies and the most comfortable conditions for the cable car and the outdoor Tian Tan Buddha climb. Visiting on a weekday morning is strongly recommended to avoid queues, particularly during public holidays and school holiday periods. The attraction operates year-round, with slightly extended hours on weekends.

Visiting the base and the surrounding area of the Tian Tan Buddha is free of charge. A ticket is required to enter the interior of the statue's podium, which houses a multimedia exhibition and a small museum on Buddhist art. The route to the base involves climbing 268 steps from the plaza level. Po Lin Monastery is also free to enter. 

Take the Dorsett Kai Tak complimentary shuttle to Kai Tak MTR Station. Board the Tuen Ma Line and change at Nam Cheong Station to the Tung Chung Line, riding westbound to Tung Chung Station (terminal). The Ngong Ping 360 cable car terminal is a two-minute walk from Exit B of Tung Chung Station. Total journey time is approximately 60 minutes. 

Dorsett Kai Tak is approximately 5 kilometres from Kai Tak Cruise Terminal – a journey of around 8 minutes by taxi along the Kai Tak waterfront promenade. It is one of the closest hotels in Hong Kong to the cruise terminal, making it the ideal pre- or post-cruise base.

Kai Tak Cruise Terminal has a multi-storey car park available for passengers and visitors. The car park operates on a pay-and-display basis with hourly and daily rates. For drop-off and pick-up, a designated vehicle set-down area is located at the terminal entrance on Shing Fung Road. For most cruise passengers, arriving by taxi from Dorsett Kai Tak is the most convenient and cost-effective option, given the short distance from the hotel.

The Kai Tak area offers a variety of pre-boarding experiences just minutes from the terminal. The terminal's own rooftop garden provides a relaxing outdoor space with panoramic harbour views. Nearby, the Kai Tak waterfront promenade is ideal for a leisurely morning walk with open harbour vistas. AIRSIDE Mall, a short taxi or shuttle ride away, offers last-minute shopping, dining, and coffee stops. For a classic Hong Kong experience, the Kowloon City wet market and neighbourhood restaurants offer an authentic local immersion before your voyage.

Victoria Harbour is spectacular at any time of day, but the most memorable experiences are at dusk and after dark. Arriving at the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade around 7:30 PM allows you to watch the city lights come on before the nightly A Symphony of Lights show at 8:00 PM. Autumn (October to November) offers the clearest skies and most comfortable weather for outdoor harbour visits.

The Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade and Avenue of Stars are approximately 0 minutes away by MTR, easily reached via the hotel's complimentary shuttle to Kai Tak MTR Station. The Kai Tak harbourfront, one of Hong Kong's newest waterfront areas with open harbour views, is just a 5-minute walk from Dorsett Kai Tak.

A Symphony of Lights is a nightly multimedia spectacle held every evening at 8:00 PM across Victoria Harbour. Over 44 buildings on both sides of the harbour participate with synchronised LED displays, laser beams, and searchlights. The show lasts approximately 13 minutes and is best viewed from the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, a harbour cruise boat, or from the Kai Tak harbourfront. Admission is free.

The easiest route is via the hotel's complimentary shuttle to Kai Tak MTR Station, then taking the Tuen Ma Line to East Tsim Sha Tsui Station. Taxis are also available at the hotel entrance and take approximately 15–20 minutes to the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade. The Kai Tak harbour front is walkable directly from the hotel in around 5–10 minutes.

While most traditional harbour cruise operators depart from Tsim Sha Tsui or Central, the Kai Tak waterfront offers excellent open harbour views directly from the promenade.
